Daniil Medvedev advances to quarterfinals of Almaty tournament

In the next match, the tennis player will face France's Terance Atman, the world's 98th-ranked player.

In the second round of the Almaty tournament, Medvedev defeated Japan's Sho Shimabukuro with a score of 6:2, 6:1. The match lasted less than an hour.

Medvedev is fifth in the world rankings and the top seed at the ATP 250 category event. Shimabukuro is ranked 109th.

Russian Karen Khachanov has also advanced to the quarterfinals. His opponent will be Kazakhstan's Alexander Bublik.
