Competition Committee Examines Pricing by Taxi Aggregators in Uzbekistan
Amid recent disruptions at major services during peak hours, trips with competitors have become several times more expensive.
The Committee for the Development of Competition and Consumer Rights Protection has begun examining the tariffs of aggregators and possible manifestations of unfair competition. The regulator will check how justified the price increases are and whether the norms of competition legislation are being observed.
Aggregators have been advised to adjust pricing algorithms, streamline the transfer of drivers' earnings, restore access for unjustifiably blocked performers, and disburse due bonuses. Additionally, companies must ensure 24/7 operation of technical support and eliminate unfair competition.
If violations of competition legislation or consumer rights protection requirements are detected, the committee will conduct an inspection and apply measures provided by law.
