Asian Cup in Saudi Arabia may be postponed for a year
The President of the Asian Football Confederation has suggested the possibility of moving the tournament to 2028 due to Houthi attacks.

The 2027 Asian Cup is set to begin on 7 January in Jeddah, Riyadh, and Al-Khobar. Sheikh Salman bin Ibrahim Al Khalifa stated that a decision on the postponement could be made by the end of November if the situation in the region does not improve.
In recent days, Saudi Arabia has faced a series of Houthi attacks. An AFC Champions League match involving the club "Al-Nassr" was delayed by an hour, and three domestic league matches were postponed. A tennis tournament featuring Novak Djokovic was moved to late December.
Australia, one of the 24 national teams in the tournament, is closely monitoring the situation. The South Korean Professional Footballers' Association has expressed serious concerns about player safety, stating that "the lives and safety of athletes and fans are more important than any tournament."
