Uzbekistan’s President Shavkat Mirziyoyev has signed a decree establishing rules for the use of reservoirs and adjacent territories.

Companies providing tourism services near water bodies will pay property and land taxes at a rate reduced by 50% until October 1, 2029. The decree also provides for the possibility of deferring customs payments for imported equipment.

Tourism facilities must be equipped with safety measures, and tourism organizers are required to establish a rescue service or enter into contracts with professional rescuers. They must also comply with the rules for operating small vessels, install internal sewage systems or local treatment facilities to prevent the discharge of untreated wastewater into water bodies, and organize the disposal of household waste.
