Thailand May Resume Visa-Free Regime for Uzbekistan
The draft will be submitted for consideration to the Visa Policy Committee on November 9; the initiative will then be assessed from security and economic perspectives.
The Ministry of Tourism and Sports of Thailand is developing a 15-day visa-free entry for citizens of Colombia, Mexico, Uzbekistan, and other target countries. The initiative aims to reduce visa delays and attract more tourists from distant foreign countries.
Uzbek citizens currently obtain Thai visas through the Embassy of Thailand in Russia. Due to this procedure, local tour operators are removing package trips to Thailand from sales and offering clients, among other destinations, Vietnam.
Recall that, since September 15, the visa-free entry rule for citizens of Uzbekistan to Thailand, as well as the possibility of obtaining a visa on arrival, have been canceled.
