Farrukh Sattarov, Head of the National Climate Change Centre, noted that by 26 October, the capital had recorded 3.9 millimetres of precipitation against a monthly figure of 23.7 millimetres. With such a deficit of rain, atmospheric dust is removed from the atmosphere more slowly.
Over the past ten years, the number of unfavourable meteorological conditions during the cold period has increased by 57%, in which strong wind combines with low precipitation. This can hinder the natural cleansing of the air.
