Supercomputer with 9,600 Nvidia GPUs listed on eBay for $60 million
An unusual listing has appeared on a popular online marketplace: buyers are being offered a massive computing complex previously used in a data center.
The American company Core 4 Solutions has listed a used supercomputer on eBay for $59.7 million. This was reported by Tom’s Hardware.
The system consists of 300 server racks and includes 9,600 Nvidia A100 graphics accelerators, 4,200 AMD EPYC processors, and approximately 1.4 petabytes of RAM.
Such a complex is designed for complex computations, including artificial intelligence training and scientific research.
According to journalists' estimates, the cost of the main components is around $28 million, excluding server racks, cooling systems, and networking equipment.
The seller offers free standard shipping. However, the buyer will need a suitable data center with powerful electricity supply and cooling.
