Needy families to receive 1 million sum during the heating season
These are families in the Social Register, lonely elderly individuals, persons with disabilities requiring external care, and families with orphaned children
Shavkat Mirziyoyev signed a decree under which families are planned to receive 1 million sum in November for the 2026–2027 heating season. The payments are intended for families in the Social Register, lonely elderly people, persons with disabilities requiring external care, and families with orphaned children.
Assistance will also be available to households that the "mahalla seven" deems eligible according to the criteria of the Social Register. Among the conditions are an income per family member not exceeding twice the minimum consumer expenditure, and for households without heating in Tashkent, not exceeding three times the minimum consumer expenditure. In the regions, a double threshold applies to such households. In exceptional cases, support may be granted to families with higher incomes by decisions of district and city headquarters.
To compensate for electricity and gas expenses, a new income threshold has been set at twice the minimum consumer expenditure. Payments for electricity and gas consumption exceeding the basic norm have been extended until 1 April 2028.
