New Rules for Advertising SMS and Calls to Take Effect in Uzbekistan
Starting November 1, companies and mobile operators will only be able to send advertising SMS and make calls to subscribers after obtaining their prior consent. Advertising communications will also be prohibited at night, and users will be able to block them fully or partially through their operator.

Consent to receive advertising must be provided in written or electronic form. This rule will apply not only to organizations but also to individuals who use mobile communications for advertising mailings.
Advertising calls and SMS will not be allowed to be sent via mobile networks from 18:00 to 09:00. Subscribers will be able to decide for themselves whether to receive such communications and may request their operator to set up a block. The restriction can be configured fully or partially.
Companies engaged in mass advertising mailings will be required to register the systems used for this purpose in a special state register for the processing of personal data. They will also be obliged to respect subscribers' choices and comply with the time limits established by law.
Violations of the new requirements will be considered non-compliance with advertising and personal data protection legislation.
