Martha Stewart Criticized for Homeless Costume on Halloween
Martha Stewart was criticized for her Halloween costume depicting a homeless person holding a sign reading, 'I'm hungry. Please help.' After the backlash, she deleted the photo and apologized.

Entrepreneur Martha Stewart posted a photo in a Halloween costume as a homeless person. In the image, she posed with a sign about hunger and a request for help.
Users found the idea mocking toward people who are genuinely in difficult situations. Stewart was also accused of failing to understand the financial struggles faced by many Americans.
She explained that she wanted to draw attention to the issue of homelessness and had no intention of offending anyone. However, after a few hours, she deleted the post and issued an apology, acknowledging that her choice was insensitive and unfunny.
Stewart founded the media holding company Martha Stewart Living Omnimedia, hosted a television show about homemaking, and has released around a hundred cookbooks. In 1997, the company went public, and Stewart became the first self-made female billionaire in the U.S. Her net worth is currently estimated at approximately $400 million.
