Asian Cup football tournament postponed to December 2027

The Asian Football Confederation (AFC) announced the postponement of the Asian Cup in Saudi Arabia: instead of the period from January 7 to February 5, 2027, the tournament will take place from December 23, 2027, to January 21, 2028.

The Asian Football Confederation announced the postponement of the tournament on November 3. The decision was made following consultations with the Asian Cup Organising Committee and the Saudi Arabian Football Federation.

The AFC explained the change in the schedule by the situation in the region, logistical challenges, and disruptions in transport links. The updated dates will be submitted to FIFA for approval.
