Apple may release a home robot for $1000 in 2027
Apple is developing a home robot for FaceTime calls and automatically turning on the lights. The company may release it in 2027, but the launch could be postponed until 2028.

According to The Information, Apple CEO John Ternus is pushing forward development of a robot for the home. The device, codenamed J595, will feature a 9-inch display on a robotic arm that can turn the screen to follow a person during video calls. The robot will also be able to automatically turn on the lights when a person enters a room.
Apple expects to release the robot in 2027 at an estimated price of around $1000, which could be higher because of component costs. If development is delayed, the release could be postponed until 2028. The device may be called HomeView Ultra, by analogy with the new stationary HomeView display.
Work on the J595 project began in 2019, and its early prototypes appeared as far back as the late 2010s. Tim Cook authorized the project to continue. According to The Information, engineers have been refining the software and adding AI for several years, attempting to expand the robot’s capabilities beyond FaceTime calls.
