France thwarts another cyberattack on blood donation banks
French authorities reported a cyberattack on three warehouses storing donated blood and plasma. The alarm was triggered, and no losses of medical products were recorded.

The incident occurred on Monday and affected the monitoring and control systems of refrigeration equipment at three facilities of the French Blood Establishment (EFS). The attack was carried out through a company that serviced these systems.
According to reports from French media, the refrigeration chambers were set to maintain a temperature of 110 degrees instead of -30. They stored blood samples and plasma bags intended for transfusion and drug production. The EFS stated that there were no product losses, and the collection and distribution of blood continue without interruption.
On the same day, the cooperative bank Credit Mutuel Arkea reported a similar attack. According to the bank, attackers gained the ability to conduct fraudulent operations, but clients' funds were not affected.
The incidents occurred amid a series of alleged attacks on cooling systems of European supermarkets. Following the first such attack in France in mid-October 2026, around 700 stores wrote off spoiled products and purchased new ones. The EU described the events as a deliberate attempt to disrupt food supplies.
