Uzbekistan and Belarus to expand cooperation in medical genetics

Samarkand State Medical University and the Institute of Genetics and Cytology of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus have agreed on a draft agreement for scientific and educational cooperation.

A delegation from the university visited the institute in Minsk and familiarized themselves with the work of the centers for genomic biotechnology and microbiome research. Uzbek specialists were shown equipment and developments in the fields of personalized medicine and molecular genetic diagnostics.

The project includes joint research, training of medical personnel, advanced training, and internships. A separate focus is the implementation of modern DNA diagnostics methods in practical healthcare.
